„Please, Don't Report Any More Issues - The Game Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect.” Asmodev Studio Ends Game Development Because They Don't Feel Like Working on It Anymore

We learned the release date for version 1.0 of Priest Simulator: Vampire Show, a game developed by the Polish studio Asmodev, which was first introduced in Early Access in October 2022. The announcement took a rather unusual form - mainly due to the developer's choice of words.

  1. The developers announced that the game will leave early access on December 5th this year.
  2. The devs have publicly admitted that they are ending Early Access because they no longer feel like working on it and would rather focus on new projects. Below we quote the announcement published on the game's page on Steam:

We regret to inform you that we’re wrapping up early access on December 5th. Honestly, we’re done working on this game and are focusing on the next ones. On that day, we’ll release a patch with a bag full of fixed bugs. Please, don’t report any more issues – the game doesn’t have to be perfect. Let’s not be perfectionists. Instead, focus on being a good person, smiling, enjoying the little things, taking care of those who need help, hanging out with friends, watching Netflix, etc. That’s what matters. Not whether sometimes the car falls through the map or there’s a typo somewhere. Who cares? Let it be.

The developers also announced that on the same day, the paid DLC Priest Simulator: Her Ghost will be released. It is supposed to cost a few bucks.

As you can see, the message is quite unusual, but so is the Asmoved studio itself. Last month, the company announced that it would withdraw from the gaming industry and focus on creating a network of stores selling firearms. Its departure from the industry won't happen anytime soon, though, as on Steam when announcing the release date of version 1.0 of PS:VS the devs mentioned that they still have a few other games in development.

Priest Simulator: Vampire Show tells the story of a priest running a provincial parish where time has stopped in the 1990s. He is not a saint, so it's not surprising that the title took the form of a humorous FPP action game, in which we fight against evil and competition.
