Metro GameCentral: by Patrick Dane
There is still a long way for me to go, and lots of areas Black Ops 6 can drop the ball from here. That’s even before we get to multiplayer and Zombies. All of that will come in our full review. However, often you get a ‘vibe’ for a good Call Of Duty game early on. A feeling that this could be one of the more important entries in the franchise. Right now, I’m starting to get the tingling.
IGN: 9 / 10 by Simon Cardy
An excellent string of missions that offer variety and flexibility come together to make Black Ops 6 the best Call of Duty campaign in many, many years.
Thumb Culture: 4 / 5
So how do we summarise Black Ops 6? With a tense and exciting campaign, going alongside the always frantic multiplayer. With a sprinkle of zombies for good measure. All in all, it’s a great addition to the Call of Duty franchise. Giving fans of the series something new as well as newcomers being welcomed in with a comprehensive experience.
The main pros of the game
- Campaign Quality: Many players praised the single-player campaign as one of the best in the series, highlighting its engaging story, well-designed missions, and the ability to approach scenarios in various ways (stealth or aggressive).
- Zombies Mode: The return of round-based Zombies was well-received, with players enjoying the new maps and mechanics, including the return of Gobblegums and a solid gameplay experience.
- Gunplay and Movement: The gunplay was described as satisfying, with the new "Omnimovement" mechanic adding fluidity to gameplay. Some players appreciated the balance of weapons and the overall feel of the game.
- Visuals and Graphics: The graphics received positive feedback for being visually impressive, with detailed environments and character models.
The main cons of the game
- Multiplayer Issues: The multiplayer mode faced significant criticism for poor map design, unbalanced gameplay, and frustrating spawn mechanics. Players frequently mentioned issues with "spawn killing" and the overall chaotic nature of matches.
- Skill-Based Matchmaking (SBMM): Many players expressed frustration with SBMM, feeling it made matches less enjoyable by consistently pitting them against players of higher skill levels, leading to a frustrating experience.
- Technical Problems: Numerous users reported bugs, crashes, and long loading times, particularly related to the game's launcher and update processes. The always-online requirement for the campaign mode was also a point of contention.
- Predatory Monetization: Players criticized the game's monetization practices, including expensive cosmetic items and the perceived lack of value for the price of the game.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Separation of Games: Many players wanted the Call of Duty games to be available as separate titles rather than all being bundled under a single launcher, which complicates accessing individual games.
- Ranked Mode: Some players felt the absence of a proper ranked mode in multiplayer was a significant oversight, especially given the competitive nature of the game.
- Improved Zombies Mechanics: While Zombies was generally well-received, some players felt that the difficulty scaling and enemy spawn mechanics needed improvement to enhance the overall experience.
- Better Communication and Interaction: Users expressed a desire for more freedom in multiplayer communication, particularly regarding the ability to talk to opposing teams.
In summary, while "Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6" has its strengths, particularly in campaign and Zombies mode, it suffers from significant multiplayer issues, technical problems, and concerns over monetization that have left many players feeling disappointed.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Description
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the 21st main installment of the bestselling FPS series published by Activision, and the sixth installment in the Call of Duty: Black Ops subseries, started in 2010.
The game is the result of collaboration between a number of development studios under the wings of an American publisher, led by Treyarch and Raven Software. In addition, teams such as Beenox (authors of the PC version), High Moon Studios, Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games also participated in the development.
Campaign
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 gives us a story campaign in which the action takes place in the early 1990s, just after the end of the Cold War. It is a continuation of the events presented in Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. Moreover, it includes references to memories from the 1980s, which we could see in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The campaign is written in the style of a spy thriller and features characters familiar to fans, such as Frank Woods and Russell Adler, as well as completely new ones – Troy Marshall and Jane Harrow. Following the trail of a global political conspiracy, we visit places including the Russian tundra, the Middle Eastern desert, Southern Europe, and the United States.
The core of the story are missions, during which we have to both act quietly and participate in spectacular events with intense shootouts. We can use weapons and gadgets straight from the action movies of the late 20th century. Between the missions we visit the hideout that acts as a hub where we can learn more about individual characters and the plot, unlock various upgrades, solve a number of puzzles, and finally choose the next assignments.
Multiplayer
The second pillar on which Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is based is the online multiplayer mode. It includes both the main variant of the game for two six-person teams, as well as the Strike mode, designed for 2 vs 2 or 6 vs 6 matches. 16 new maps have been prepared for the game's launch – 4 for Strike mode and 12 for the main mode.
This is not the end, as the Prestige system (Classic Prestige) returns here, thanks to which after reaching the highest rank we can gain access to various bonuses. The game also features a cinema mode and offers new interface settings. The latter include the ability to change the position of the minimap and completely disable selected HUD elements.
Zombies Mode
The third pillar of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the Zombies Mode in which we repel successive waves of the living dead, fighting alone or in cooperation with other players. As we progress, we unlock various improvements that increase our combat potential, and consequently - allow us to survive longer on the battlefield. At the time of the premiere, two maps were made available to us - Liberty Falls and Terminus.
Omnimovement
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offers a completely new, realistic character movement system, called Omnimovement, which was prepared from scratch. Thanks to it, we can run smoothly, slide and dive in any direction. It is also possible to rotate in a lying position, which further increases our freedom of movement and expands the range of tactical possibilities on the battlefield.
Game Pass
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was released on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
