Towers of Aghasba

Towers of Aghasba is a sandbox game set in the fantasy land of Aghasba. It was developed by the indie studio Dreamlit inc., founded in 2020, collaborating with the award-winning publisher Kowloon Nights.

Plot

The game is set on the holy land of Aghasba, after the return of its former inhabitans. Though meant to be a paradise, upon their arrival the people find only dead flora, fauna and the ruins of an ancient civilization. The land is not completely abandoned, though. It is inhabited by mythical creatures, surprised by humans' return.

Mechanics

The goal of the game is rebuilding the ancient culture of Shimu and restoring the once flourishing land's greatness. The playable character traverses Aghasba, witnessing breathtaking views, befriending fantasy creatures and getting into conflicts with aggressors. While learning how to play, they also discover the sacred island's rich history.

The game is primarily a building simulator, so our main focus will be on planning a settlement - choosing and placing buildings to let them provide shelter and livelihood for the Shimu people. In addition to expanding the settlements we must also develop and restore dead ecosystems of fantastic flora and fauna.

Game modes

Towers of Aghasba is playable in singleplayer and online co-op. The latter option lets us visit our friends' islands and invite other players onto our own, to explore the land, harvest crops or enjoy each other's company.

Technical aspects

The game features subdued 3D visuals and an atmospheric soundtrack. The inhabitants of the land speak their native language, adding more charm to the experience.
